A 2-minute walk from Dobutsuen-Mae Subway Station, Business Hotel Taiyo features simple rooms with free Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms. Bicycles can be rented, and a shared-use microwave is on offer.

Guests at Taiyo Business Hotel sleep on a tatami (woven-straw) floor in traditional futon bedding. Each room is air-conditioned and has a TV. Toilets are shared.

Tsutenkaku Tower, Tennoji Zoo and Osaka City Museum are all a 10-minute walk away. The lively Dotonbori area can be reached in 10 minutes by train, while Universal Studios Japan is a 20-minute train ride away.

My stay is still pretty good

In front of a metro station, great location overall. Easy to go to places from here. Pretty quiet at night

Not clean at all, very poor condition of the facility but you get what you pay for I guess. Good enough to just sleep for a few nights.

Not the best hotel with untidy lavatories and shower rooms. Would not recommend.

Good location, metro station was very close.

Bathrooms and toilets were not tidy. Bath was horrible. Tub had lots of loose tiles, there was mold on floor seams, water was not hot.

You get what you Pay for

The staff was very friendly

The room was very tiny, we didn't have enough hangers and it was freezing. The booking is very confusing, so be careful when you check if the room has toilets or not. The sinks didn't have hot water, and the corner of those were very dirty, so I used the "do not gaze into the abyss, for it not to gaze into you" technique and avoided looking, but it was still there.

Not value for money

Nearby Sinsekai street.

The room is provide only Toilet. NO SHOWER. If u want shower outside room. The advertisement quite confusing. The room not clean and odour. The blanket was dirty and smelly. There is hole in blanket (refer to the picture). The toilet not clean and smelly. Not suitable for holiday. We booked for 4nights unfortunately we only stayed 1night because of the uncomfortable place. We ask the manager for charges only 1 night but they refused. So for us this is not good hotel and policy. Bad. The hotel quite old and dirty. Maybe they should deep cleaning for sustain in hotel industry.

You get what you pay for.

The location is great in terms of public transportation. Lots of things to do within walking distance. Reception open 24hours. Close to many convenience stores. Very affordable.

Only showers on the three first floors. Everything is dirty and the toilets smells of pis. The room wasn't very clean either (dust and hairballs on the floor). Our room was right next to the main road, very noisy at all hours (even on the 7th floor).

Good value but very run down - more like a grungy hostel than hotel

The staff were helpful and the hotel was quiet. They let you change out your towels daily and provide room turnover on request. The linens were clean. The AC worked.

While a great value, I have basic standards for cleanliness. This hotel did not meet them. It was, unfortunately, dirty. I was afraid to touch surfaces that weren't commonly used. The "spa" was grungy with loose tiles and very rusty. There were times when there was no cold water and so showers were unbearably hot.

Basic accommodation, great location, good value for money

I had a Japanese room, basic and small, the very definition of minimalism, but I find it a great experience to try this kind of accommodation while in Japan. For two nights stay it was all I needed. The place is very close to 2 metro stations and that's a big advantage. The location is great. The toilets and showers are shared but I found them vacant all the time I needed to use them, morning, late evening, o this didn't bothered me at all. I would stay here again, the price was very good so I could save money for other experiences or trips there.

Good for budget travelers

The location, few step from dobutsuenmae stations. Less than 10 minutes to namba station, 2nd is the price... Good for budget travelers. U can get a private rooms with price as low as not more than 20usd.

The pantry hygiene. The cooking facilities and the microwave is really dirty. I used to stay here more than 10 times before covid. But after covid this place has change.the hotel not really care about the cleanest of the common room area. For those who hygienic.. This place is not for you. For me i am okay with it. As long as i get private room to stay. Hope the hostel can take care the cleanest of their pantry.

cheap convenient or the solo traveler, steps away from Shin Sekai

it’s located just outside of dobutsuen mae station, and close to shin Imamiya station, close to convenience stores and super markets. Nearby parks and sightseeing spots.

it’s not particularly clean, nor the bathrooms or the common areas.

Good location. The clerck was friendly and helpful. I also really like the 80's vibe and the sento. for the price I paid it was a good deal. It's fine for one night but I wouldn't stay longer.

Well, as this is a old and cheap hotel, it seems outdated and "looks" dirty. There were multiple stains on my bedroom walls. The sento was smaller then expected and there was only one bath and no dry sauna.

Good option for a cheap place to crash but don’t expect too much

Was a convenient place to stay and super cheap

Look You get what you pay for , so we didn’t expect much and we’re just looking for a cheap place for the night close to the station. It’s pretty grim and the area can be sketchy at night. The Bathrooms and common areas are quite dirty unlike most places in Japan which are super clear. I wouldn’t stay in this place if I was travelling alone put it that way.. but a great option if you have a super early flight and are not spending a significant amount of time.

Acceptable stay and value!

Well it’s the old hotel, good value for money. acceptable facility that’s all!

As it is a old hotel style. toilet and bathroom are outside. not convenience for some people more for the solo travellers.

excellent value in a great location

Well located just outside Doubutsuen mae underground and Shin Imamiya JR. The hotel is quite run down but represents great value for money. For the area the rooms are a reasonable size. Ours had a toilet. There's an onsen downstairs but very short hours for women 10pm-12. Towels and linen provided. The staff were very helpful and spoke some English. There were helpful pamphlets about Kansai sights. You can leave your bags there if you are flying out later. There's a kitchen downstairs and a few eating areas nearby but if you want something a bit nicer, Tennoji is close. The area around the hotel is dilapidated and being demolished. It looks like a poorer area, so harder to find a breakfast set. It's an interesting area though just past the DonQ store. The rooms are relatively clean but the common areas quite dirty. However if you're on a budget it's an unbelievable bargain (at the current Aus$ exchange rate). Surprisingly quiet for the centre of Osaka.

Longer hours for the public bath would have been good. A little cleaner in the common areas if possible.
